Brasilia

Brasilia is the capital of the Brazilian state, which officially became the national capital of Brazil on April 22, 1960. The city is located in the Central-Western countries, along a plateau known as Planalto Central, and is the fourth largest city in Brazil. The city was declared as one of UNESCO world heritage site.


Brasilia has its own uniqueness, namely his city laid out like a cross adjacent to each other so that when viewed from the air looks like a giant butterfly. Brasilia Cathedral

Brasilia Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral serves Brasilia, Brazil, and serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Brasília. Hyperboloid concrete frame structure and glass roof as if to reach upward to open the sky. It was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, and completed and dedicated on May 31, 1970. Hyperboloid structure of the cathedral is built of 16 concrete columns, weighing 90 tons each.

Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls, Iguassu Falls, or Iguaçu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located on the border of the Parana State of Brazil and the Argentine province of Misiones. Falls divide the river into upper and lower Iguazu. Iguazu rivers originate near the city of Curitiba. Flows through Brazil for most of the tracks. Following a meeting with the San Antonio River, Iguazu River forms the boundary between Brazil and Argentina.

The name "Iguazu" is derived from the Tupi Guarani, which means "water", and ûasú [wasu], which means "large". Iguazu Falls is included in the amazing world of miracles. This waterfall stretches about 2.7 km as far as the border between the two countries, namely Argentina and Brazil. Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro commonly referred to simply as Rio, is the capital city of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city of Brazil, and the third largest metropolitan area and agglomeration in South America, 6th largest in the Americas, and 26th in the world.

The city was the capital of Brazil for nearly two centuries, from 1763 to 1815 during the Portuguese colonial era, 1815 to 1821 as the capital of the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarves, 1822 to 1889 as the capital of Empire of Brazil, and from 1889 to 1960 as an independent nation. Rio is nicknamed the Cidade Maravilhosa or "Marvelous City".

Rio de Janeiro is the most visited city in southern hemisphere and is known for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba, Bossa Nova, and balneario beaches such as Barra da Tijuca, Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon. Some of the most famous landmarks in addition to the beaches include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer ('Cristo Redentor') atop Corcovado mountain, named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; Sugarloaf mountain (Pão de Açúcar) with its cable car; the Sambódromo, a permanent grandstand-lined parade avenue which is used during Carnival; and Maracanã Stadium, one of the world's largest football stadiums. The 2016 Summer Olympics will take place in Rio de Janeiro, which will mark the first time a South American city hosts the event. Rio's Maracanã Stadium will also host the final match for 2014 FIFA World Cup.

CHRIST Redeemer

CHRIST Redeemer or Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ with the largest Art Deco architectural style and located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue has a height of 38 meters and is located at the top of Corcovado Mountain is 710 m high in the Tijuca Forest National Park, overlooking the city.

This statue is a symbol of Christianity, and became a symbol of city pride. This statue of an open hand be seen by many as a sign of the warmth of the Brazilian population.

Christ Redeemer was designed by Heitor da Silva Costa and the chisel by Frenchman Paul Landowski. Project done for 9 years from 1922 until October 12, 1931, at a cost of U.S. $ 250,000.

The statue is made from a mixture of concrete and stone. When the construction of railway built to carry large pieces of sculpture to the top of the mountain. The statue was inaugurated on October 12, 1931.

To see the statue up close have to climb 220 stairs. But on January 20, 2003 have been built elevators and sekalator. So do not bother anymore.

Guaíra Falls, Brazil
