Lake Malawi

Lake Malawi is the African Great Lakes, and lakes south of the Great Rift Valley system in East Africa. This lake, the third largest in Africa and the eighth largest lake in the world, situated between Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania. This is the second deepest lake in Africa, despite the quiet north coast gave no indication of depth. Tropical waters is a great lake reported habitats of fish species more than any other collection of fresh water on Earth, including more than 1000 species of cichlids.


Lake Malawi officially declared as a reserve by the Government of Mozambique on June 10, 2011 in an effort to protect one of the largest freshwater lake and bio-diverse in the world. Lake Malawi or Lake Nyaza has a depth of 706 meters with a total lake surface area of about 29,600 square kilometers. Lake Malawi or Nyaza alone was estimated to be at least around 40,000 years.

The Serengeti

The Serengeti ecosystem is a geographical region in Africa. It is located in northern Tanzania and extends to the south-western Kenya between latitudes 1 and 3 S and longitudes 34 and 36 E. It covers about 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq mi). Serengeti hosts the largest mammal migration in the world, which is one of the top ten travel wonders of the natural world. This region contains several national parks and game reserves. Serengeti comes from Maasai language Maa, special, "Serengit" which means "eternal Plains".

Approximately 70 larger mammal and some 500 species of avifauna found there. High diversity in terms of species is a function of habitats ranging from forest streams, swamps, kopjes, prairies and forests Blue Wildebeests, gazelles, zebras and buffalos are some large mammals commonly found in this region.

In October, nearly 2 million herbivores migrate from hills to the mainland by crossing the Mara River. Cradle of Humankind is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO first named in 1999, about 50 kilometers northwest of Johannesburg, South Africa in Gauteng Province. This site currently occupies 47 000 hectares (180 sq mi), contains a complex of limestone caves, including the Sterkfontein Caves, where 2.3 million years old fossil Australopithecus africanus (nicknamed "Mrs. Ples") was discovered in 1947 by Dr Robert Broom. and John T. Robinson.

Kruger National Park
